The Kessler Sydrome is a prediction theorized by a retired head of the NASA orbital debris program, Dr. Don Kessler. It states that the debris already in space will eventually run into other things in space at a very high velocity. This would result in a lot more pieces that will increase the likelyhood of even more collisions. If the problem is not stablized, the only thing left will be a massive cloud of debris!

What's so bad about that? Well, it will take out the satellites that give us wifi, internet, weather prediction, GPS, cell service, and so on. This also means that satellites and rockets can't go up to solve this OR come back down. The future of space exploration, and social media, rests on the shoulders of those who dedicate themselves to solving this problem.
